Comparing Population Pyramids:

Comparing Population Pyramids:

Thailand:
In 1970 Thailand the birth rate of the country was high as the base of the pyramid is very wide, whereas today the base of the pyramid has become narrow showing the decrease in the birth rate. The death rate was also significantly higher in 1970 as the sides tapered off quickly, meanwhile in 2015 the sides began to increase in size and then decrease after the ages of 44. This conveys that the death rate has also decreased from 1970 like the birth rate. In 1970 the life expectancy is relatively low as both genders reach 0% at the ages of 85-89. Now the genders reach 0% at 95-99, which is exactly 10 years greater than before. The increase in life expectancy shows that the death rate has decreased as people are living longer than previously. In regards to the gender in 1970 there was is a relatively higher percentage of men being born than woman, however more men dying earlier than women. The birth percentage for women was 8.4%, whereas for men was 8.7%, but by the ages of 15-19 both came down to 50-50.

Philippines:
In 1970 the Philippines had a greater birth rate of 8.9% because the base is wider, meanwhile now it has decreased to around 5.9%. The sides also began to taper rapidly in 1970 showing the very high death rate, because by 15-19 it become 5.3%. Whereas now the population has decreased slower conveying that the death rate has decreased, hence the greater life expectancy than in 1970. In 1970 it was 80-84, in 2015 it is 90-94.
